Wittersham School Association

The Wittersham School Association (WSA) plays a vital role in the life of our school. As a small registered charity, the WSA works in partnership with the school to raise funds, organise events and create opportunities that enrich the educational experience of every child. Run entirely by volunteers, the committee and wider parent community give their time, creativity and energy to support projects that would not be possible through statutory school funding alone. Their efforts strengthen the sense of community that makes Wittersham such a special place.

We are delighted to share an update on the fantastic work the WSA has carried out so far this year. The commitment, generosity and enthusiasm shown by families, volunteers and the WSA committee continue to have a positive impact across the school.

We are also proud to reflect on the remarkable success of the Wittersham Summer Festival, which raised an outstanding profit of £5,011.42. This achievement set a strong foundation for the year ahead and showcased the community spirit that defines Wittersham.

A special thank-you goes to Daisy and Lacey, who, in their first year as WSA Co-Chairs, have led with dedication, organisation and warmth. Their hard work has ensured a fantastic start to the year’s fundraising and events.

Thanks to your continued support, the WSA has already helped to fund and organise:

• new reading books across the school
• resources for Forest School and The Orchard
• Year 6 leavers’ celebrations
• the whole-school pantomime for the Autumn term
• a brilliant fencing day enjoyed by all pupils
• Christmas craft events and upcoming Christmas movie nights
• the refilling and improvement of the school sandpit
• a series of cake sales that have brought families together and raised essential funds
• Christmas and Easter events for all pupils
• ongoing enrichment and curriculum-enhancing opportunities throughout the year

These projects are planned in collaboration with the Headteacher and Governing Body to ensure that every contribution benefits pupils directly and meaningfully.

It has been wonderful to see so many families taking part in Autumn term events and supporting fundraising efforts with such enthusiasm. This shared commitment is what makes our school community exceptional, and we are deeply grateful for the support shown.

A heartfelt thank you to Daisy, Lacey, the WSA committee, our volunteers and all our families. Your time, generosity and kindness make a genuine difference to the life of our school.
