Welcome

On behalf of everyone at Wittersham Church of England Primary School, I am delighted to welcome you to our website. We are incredibly proud of our small rural school, set within an area of outstanding natural beauty, and of all the children who make up our Wittersham family.

As a Church of England school, our Christian vision is at the heart of all we do. Guided by our values of courage, compassion and cooperation, we work to ensure every child feels valued, nurtured and empowered. This vision shapes our decisions and inspires our staff, governors and wider community to provide the very best for all pupils.

At Wittersham, every child is recognised as an individual with their own unique talents, strengths and needs. We nurture inquisitive minds, encourage curiosity and challenge, and help children develop resilience and independence. Our dedicated staff team work tirelessly to deliver a broad and ambitious curriculum, and our strong commitment to nurture and wellbeing ensures that children are supported in every aspect of their learning journey. We maintain high expectations for learning and behaviour and take great pride in celebrating the many ways our pupils achieve and flourish, both academically and personally.

We are proud that in 2024 our Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) described Wittersham as a “place of kindness and love, driven by its Christian vision.” Our most recent Ofsted inspection in 2025 judged us to be Good in all areas, recognising our strong SEND provision, high standards of behaviour, ambitious curriculum and our newly established Nurture provision, The Orchard, as key strengths. Inspectors praised our warm and inclusive environment, where pupils thrive in a culture of trust, respect and high aspiration.

Our beautiful rural setting enriches school life in countless ways. Forest School, outdoor learning and daily opportunities to connect with the natural world are woven throughout the Wittersham curriculum, supporting holistic development and a genuine love of learning. Alongside this, a wide range of extracurricular and enrichment opportunities helps to build confidence, creativity and a strong sense of belonging.

We believe that education is strongest when school and home work together. Parents and carers play a central role in our community, and together with our committed staff and governors, we aim to nurture, inspire and empower every child to succeed.

If you would like to know more about our school or arrange a visit, please do get in touch. We would be delighted to welcome you and share the wonderful spirit of Wittersham Church of England Primary School with you.
