Our Children
At Wittersham Church of England Primary School, our children are at the heart of everything we do. They are curious, kind, resilient, and full of potential. We are proud of the way they live out our school values of courage, compassion, and cooperation each day — whether in their learning, relationships, or wider contribution to our school community.
Visitors to the school often comment on the children’s warmth and confidence. During our most recent SIAMS inspection, the school was described as “a place of kindness and love, driven by its Christian vision”, and the children were recognised as “thoughtful, reflective and eager to make a difference.”
Ofsted echoed this in their report, noting: “Pupils want to do well, and they learn to persevere and not give up. They thrive within this trusting and harmonious environment.” The report also highlighted that “Staff have caring relationships with pupils and know their families well.” This strong sense of belonging allows every child to feel safe, valued and supported in their learning journey.
From Forest School to Collective Worship, from sporting events to community projects, our children are encouraged to take part, try new things, and develop the confidence to be themselves. They are not just preparing for their next stage of education — they are becoming the kind, responsible and capable individuals our world needs.
An atmosphere of kindness and respect permeates the school. The headteacher and other staff are always there for pupils to talk to. Pupils are confident that any worries they have will be resolved. Pupils behave well. They say there is no bullying in the school, and incidents of poor behaviour are very rare.
