At Wittersham Church of England Primary School, safeguarding and pupil welfare are the responsibility of every staff member, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all. The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Stella Coulson (Acting Headteacher), oversees all safeguarding matters, supported by a dedicated team of Deputy DSLs. These include Lucy Avena (Teacher), Lynsey Scott (Assistant Headteacher), and Claire Sterriker-Rhodes (Family Liaison Officer). Together, they work closely to uphold the highest standards of behaviour, safety, and welfare across the school community, ensuring the well-being of every child remains at the forefront of our mission.

Wittersham Church of England Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  Any posts at the school are subject to an enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and a check against the ISA Barred List for children.

We also follow KCC guidelines regarding DBS checks for volunteers who help at our school.
